| Ever wonder how some people get through life at all, with their continual whining about every little thing that takes place around them? Listen, I'm fully aware that I can be a quite the bitcher and complainer.... but I try never to play the 'victim' card until the victimization is an actual reality.
That said, I work with one of these 'habitual victims'. Everyone and everything is out to get her. The list of would-be haters and the list of imaginary ailments is as long as her left leg. But she alternates between this victim mentality and another completely separate, but equally creepy persona, 'super woman'. Here, we have the invincible, wonderful, superstar beautiful, genius-level godsend. She alternates back and forth between one and the other, and you never know what you're going to get from one minute to the next. The problem is that for me, either one is powerfully disgusting to listen to with any degree of regularity. While she does seem to possess a tiny bit of neutrality (however small and difficult to locate) between these two extremes, that itsy bitsy slice is seldom the side she displays at work. Also, she seems to have an extremely high threshhold for understanding what would be considered inappropriate conversation with clientele... and often wanders in to the land of ho-lee shit with her 'sharing' of intimate details of her life with people she barely knows, often in the vein of 'poor me, look what all the bad people did to me'....
I sit within five feet of this woman for eight hours a day. It would be nice if she could come to terms with some measure of mature acceptance and some small modicum of grace. But I dream....

| I hear ya, Grim! People like that make me insane too, especially at work. The last place I worked at the woman across from me came in every Monday and would go into graphic detail about her weekend out clubbing/partying etc. Drove me nuts! Play your music nice and loud, especially when she comes to your desk. _________________ "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy shit, what a ride!'"

HAHAHA! Actually, that is one of the things that has already been a bone of contention between us... SHE plays her radio, and it's against company rules. She thought she could get around it by going to our boss.. and he told her, 'you may listen to music, as long as YOU are the only one that can hear it'... But she heard, 'you can listen to music'... and got herself in to even more hot water.... there's no hope for it... my boss told me that he is going to send us to lunch, PAY for it, and have us hash out our differences. That should be interesting. I can see the headlines now:
"Woman reaches ropes end and clobbers the crap out of co-worker at local diner. Clobbered woman was heard to have said, 'I've come to my senses now'... "

It's hard to say, you may be right!... I do know that she is unbelievably loud and completely obnoxious.
