We are in need of prayers for our sweet black sable, Homer. We noticed a large lump in his belly this past week while we were playing with him. Dr. S. called me back into the OR this morning to see this -- a lobe of his liver had a large tennis-ball sized mass on the right lobe of his liver. Dr. S. thought it was a cystic liver, which is what Gretchen had a few years ago, but after he removed it he bisected it and found it was huge blood clots surrounding large white lumps. Most likely it is another cancer. Homer also has enlarged adrenals, but he can live with that for a while. Right now, our objective is to get him through surgery and then deal with quality of life issues. I'll keep you posted.

My old body feels like a MAC truck has run over me......did a little more wood cutting than I realized this morning.....just so much downed wood lying around and can't resist the urge to saw away on it. It seems that our road has become a dumping ground for things nobody wants......got a bunch of buckets of paint and paint thinner, a discarded mattress and now the neighbor said someone shot a deer (even though deer gun season isn't in yet), skinned part of it and cut away the meat they wanted then dumped the carcass down along his fenceline. Was hoping the buzzards haven't left for warmer climes yet so they can clean up the kill.
