One of my sons and grandson wants to plant peanuts next year......just to see them grow. I Wickapediad peanuts and see they need 5 months of warm growing weather coupled with a good amount of rain or irrigation to do well. Also requires sandy, loam soil which I think we have down at Uncle Virgil's. I suppose they will need to get the raw peanuts to plant......will be interesting to watch them grow if they make it.

You just take corn from random places in the field and shell it and put it in the "machine", and then you get your reading! It's some thing that you have to se to understand! It has to do with weight and heat in the corn! confused

Just so there's no rain Don! Neutral We need a few days of dry air to dry the corn down to proper levels for storage! Wink

MATT, I tried your suggestion for getting rid of McAfee's program on my computer with no success.....in order to remove their program, it says I must first remove LEGACY PROGRAMS which I have no clue how to do that. Still, I don't have McAfee running now that their subscription has expired ....and the computer is running much faster.....I'm loving it!

Good morning, slept in big time. Woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep until around 5:00. At least that was the last time I looked at the clock. going back to read the rest of the thread.

I hear one of the neighbors dryers running right now....can't determine if it is corn or beans they are drying. Most farmers are still waiting to start the corn harvest around here. Most of the beans have already been done. Fields are a bit on the wet side with some standing water down in the bottoms. We followed one of the combines down the road yesterday for around 3 miles before he turned off to let traffic pass......around 8 mph affraid Would not have wanted to meet him on our roads....I'd have to get off in someones driveway.
