| I didn't hear about this until this afternoon, but frankly, I don't see anything wrong with what Rep. Joe Wilson did. It's about time someone called out this president instead of letting him continue on with this fantasy he keeps perpetuating for himself. I, for one, will let Joe Wilson know that I agree with him (once his webpage is back up. heehee). _________________ "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy shit, what a ride!'"

| simple~ rules of the house and senate specifically state noone may make comments DURING a speech by a guest in their chambers~ even if it was Osama bin laden talking about doing away with the US of A. Commentary limited to after said speaches~ agree or disagree. Hisses and boos allowed. Breaking these rules should be dealt with swiftly and harshly. If he woulda waited till speech was officially over ~ right or wrong ~ he woulda been ok. Civility MUST be maintained by our lawmakers at all costs~ the very integrity of our government relies on it! Do you really think it would be better if all rules were dispensed with and fistfights amonst our representatives in the chambers were an everyday occurance? Personnally think breaking the set rules should result in stripping all commitee asignments from offender~ reguardless of cercumstance. But you cannot bar his vote~ you would be stopping someones right to have a representative ! |

| [quote="hawkfanjohn"] Civility MUST be maintained by our lawmakers at all costs~ the very integrity of our government relies on it! Do you really think it would be better if all rules were dispensed with and fistfights amonst our representatives in the chambers were an everyday occurance? [quote] I disagree, sometimes politeness and political correctness need to be set aside and the truth should be told, no matter how unpleasant it is for some to hear. Not to mention Obama flat out said that some people in the congress lied (oh, wait he used the "polite" term of "misled")so why can't they call him a liar? He's allowed to do it, but they're not? bullshit. He's bald face liar and I'm glad someone pointed that fact out. It's time we stop pussy-footing around and call a spade a spade.
And at ALL costs? At the cost of a country in peril? At the cost of American citizens losing their liberties? No, there comes a time when we need to start swinging if necessary. ALL of our representatives have stopped listening to us when we're polite, it's time to get rude if it is what gets there attention and I'm glad to see at least one of our reps has learned that. _________________ "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting 'Holy shit, what a ride!'"

| It's okay to boo, hiss and protest Bush but not Obama. Throwing shoes are okay too....... I think it was disrespectful to do that to the president during the speech. The minute he is done, then you blast him. |

| A word or two of spontaneous utterance doesn't seem a great offense in Brittish Parliament, and they have a few more years of experience than our "leadership" ... Just another case of "If you don't like the message, punish the messenger" ... |

| The Hair Cut ... One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door. Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.' The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door. Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut. And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it ... |
